Summary
Modifying the anchor layout allows PROFIS Engineering to correctly represent the position and spacing of anchors on the baseplate. Adjusting the layout ensures accurate edge distances, load distribution, and anchor interaction, which directly influence the design resistance and overall performance of the connection.
Prerequisites
Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Open the Anchor tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Anchor tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
-
Go to Layout
Click the arrow to expand the Layout menu, then choose the desired anchor layout from the available options.
-
Adjust Rotation
Navigate to Rotation. Use rotation controls to turn the layout. Each click rotates the layout by 90 degrees. -
Go to Installation
Check the No hole clearance option when the annular gap between anchor and baseplate is non-existent.
Tip
Hole clearances between the plate and the anchor can lead to un-equal distribution of loads to the anchors. In some cases of shear, seismic or fatigue loading, the software requires no hole clearance to be selected to proceed with design. In practice, no hole clearance means that the annular gap between anchor and baseplate is eliminated, for example, when the gap is non-existent, filled with mortar or by selecting the Hilti filling set.
