Summary
Selecting the correct application and fastening technology is the first and most critical step when working in the Anchor channel module. These selections define the structural configuration and anchoring concept and automatically determine which design inputs, parameters, and checks are available in the workflow. Changing the application or fastening technology may reset or update previously entered values to ensure a consistent and valid design setup.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Anchor channel module
- Have selected the Application type and Fastening technology
If needed, refer to the article How to access the Anchor channel module in PROFIS Engineering.
Step‑by‑step instructions
-
Open the Application tab
In your Anchor channel design workspace, navigate to the Application tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
Here you can define:- The structural application (geometry and orientation)
-
The fastening technology used
-
Select the Application type
Under Application type, choose the option that best represents your installation condition:- Top / Bottom of slab
- Top / Bottom of slab – Symmetric corner
- Face of wall
-
Face of wall – Symmetric corner
-
Select the Fastening technology
Under Fastening technology, select one or more applicable options:- Cast‑in anchor channels
- Post‑installed anchors
- Cast‑in anchors
You can enable multiple technologies if the design allows alternative fastening concepts.
-
Confirm changes when prompted
If you change the application type after entering other design inputs, PROFIS Engineering displays a warning message.
Click OK to confirm and proceed.
Tip
Always select the application type and fastening technology before entering detailed geometry or load inputs. Because these selections control which parameters are available, defining them early helps avoid rework and ensures a smooth design workflow.
