Summary

Modifying the concrete reinforcement allows PROFIS Engineering to account for how densely the existing concrete base material is reinforced and whether the reinforcement is sufficient to control cracking. This helps the software apply the correct assumptions for concrete behaviour.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Reinforcement tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Reinforcement tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Go to Concrete reinforcement
    • Here you can select the most appropriate reinforcement condition from the dropdown menu for Concrete (longitudinal) and Edge (shear) reinforcement.
    • Check the Reinforcement to control cracking present box, if applicable.
