Summary
Selecting the correct baseplate shape and specifying the dimensions ensures that PROFIS Engineering accurately models the load distribution to the anchors. These settings influence anchor layout making them essential inputs for a realistic and code‑aligned design.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Anchoring to Masonry module
If needed, refer to the article How to access the Anchoring to Masonry module in PROFIS Engineering.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Open the Baseplate tab
In your Anchoring to Masonry design workspace, navigate to the Baseplate tab on the left-hand side of the screen. -
Select the Baseplate shape
Go to Baseplate shape and enable the baseplate.
-
Modify Baseplate dimensions
Under Baseplate shape, click on the highlighted box to modify the baseplate dimensions and then click Save. -
Set the Stand-off condition
Currently, PROFIS Engineering does not allow for stand-off conditions for anchoring into masonry. -
Alternative Option: Ledger Angle
PROFIS Engineering also allows you to select a Ledger angle instead of a baseplate.
Note: When Ledger angle is selected, select the profile shape and size. You can also choose to customize the size.
Tip
The baseplate configuration significantly influences anchor forces and design outcomes; therefore, it is essential to ensure the correct configuration is entered.
