How to access the Shear strengthening module in PROFIS Engineering

You must access the Shear strengthening module before defining materials, modifying geometry, or running design calculations. This article explains how to open the module so that you can begin your design workflow.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have:

• A valid Hilti account
• Access to PROFIS Engineering
• A stable internet connection

Step-by-step instructions

1. Go to the PROFIS Engineering website
   https://profisengineering.hilti.com/
2. Log in to your account
   Enter your Hilti credentials to access your workspace.
3. Open the Shear strengthening module
   Click New in the top-left corner.
   From the available options, select Custom design.

4. Select the fixing type
   Choose Shear strengthening from the fixing type options and click Save.
   Here you can also set your default design standard and units.

   

5. Customize settings (optional)
   If needed, adjust:

   1. Strengthening design method & approvals
   2. Units 
   3. Safety factors and default parameters

   Click Save once finished.
   

6. Start a new design
   After selecting the fixing type, your Shear strengthening design workspace will load automatically.

Alternative access method

On the PROFIS Engineering home page, you can also click the Shear strengthening tile directly under the Applications section in the center panel.
