Summary
The load combination panel allows you to create, edit, import, or delete load combinations so that PROFIS Engineering can evaluate anchor performance under all required loading scenarios. Managing load combinations ensures that your design reflects the actual loading conditions of the project and helps you quickly identify the governing combination for accurate and efficient fastening system design.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Anchor channel module
- Have entered all other design inputs
If needed, refer to the article How to access the Anchor channel module in PROFIS Engineering.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Open the Load Combination panel
In your Anchor channel design workspace, scroll to the Load combination panel at the bottom of the screen.
Here you will see a table listing each load combination (varies depending on the application), including:- Load type
- Tension, shear or moment
-
Strength utilisation
-
Edit existing combinations
Click on the static, seismic or fatigue design icon to switch the Load type.Click inside any cell for forces/moment to type new values.
Your changes automatically update in the table and the drilling length is calculated.Note: You can also edit the loads using the 3D view of the design.
-
Create a new load combination
Click Add load combination.
This creates a blank row where you can enter your loads.
Enter load details and click ✓ (apply) or ✖ (cancel) icons to confirm or discard your input, respectively.
Note: When Load per bolt (Load definition) is selected, it is not possible to add load combination.Select the radio button to switch the active load combination.
-
Import factored loads from a spreadsheet
Click Import load combinations.A pop‑up will appear with a paste field.
Steps to import:- Copy your factored load table from Excel or another source.
- Paste it into the pop‑up window.
-
Click Apply.
The system automatically fills in the load combinations based on your pasted data.
-
Choose calculation mode
Below the load combination table, select one of the two calculation options, when working with multiple load combinations:- Calculate all combinations (slower)
-
Calculate active combination only (faster)
-
Delete a combination
Click the trash bin icon on the right-hand side of any load combination row.
Deleted combinations cannot be recovered, so ensure that you remove only those no longer needed.
Click on the warning icon to view warnings, if any.
Tip
To input Loads per bolt, go to Load type → Load definition, and select Per bolt.
The Load combination panel will update to allow loads per bolt.
