Summary

Defining and modifying the concrete geometry ensures that PROFIS Engineering uses the correct member thickness and edge distances for accurate fastening design and realistic load‑transfer behaviour.

Prerequisites

Make sure you:

  • Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
  • Have opened the Facade module
  • Have selected the Application type and Fastening technology

If needed, refer to the article How to access the Facade module in PROFIS Engineering.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Concrete material tab
In your Facade design workspace, navigate to the Concrete material tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Go to Geometry
Here you can type in the concrete thickness value and edge distances in x and y directions. Alternatively, use the “+ / –” controls to increase or decrease the values.

  2. Use the infinity edge option
Select the Infinity edge option in case of large edge distances.

Tip

Changes to concrete thickness or edge distances can affect available design space and may trigger warnings or automatic updates in later steps.
