Summary

Selecting an anchor type and size enables PROFIS Engineering to design with the precise technical characteristics of the chosen product. The selection of the anchor directly impacts the connection performance, design resistance, and suitability for the specific base material, loading and other conditions.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Anchor tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Anchor tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Select the Anchor
Under Anchor, select the desired Anchor Family as well as specific Type of fastening element from the dropdown menu.

  2. Choose the Anchor size
Select the desired anchor Size from the dropdown list.
  1. View Product Approval
Click View ESR to open the corresponding product approval document.
  2. Optimized embedment depth (Default)
By default, Optimized embedment depth is selected.
Note: PROFIS Engineering automatically determines the optimised (minimum) embedment depth that results typically in high anchor utilization.

  3. Modify embedment depth (Optional)
To enter your own value, select User selected embedment depth.

Tip

PROFIS Engineering will automatically filter out products that do not meet the selected boundary conditions, such as load type, cracked concrete base material, borehole condition, and others. For example, if the user selects a seismic load type, only anchors suitable for this load condition will appear in the dropdown menu, providing more piece of mind.
