Summary

Defining the longitudinal cast‑in reinforcement ensures that PROFIS Engineering correctly models the reinforcement that post‑installed rebar will splice into. Accurate reinforcement inputs help establish proper development length, anchorage behavior, and load transfer.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Concrete to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Existing reinforcement tab
In your Concrete to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Existing reinforcement tab on the left-hand side of the screen.

  2. Input Bar type and Diameter
Under Cast-in spliced reinforcement, select the Bar type and Diameter from the dropdown menus.

  3. Select the bar grade
Under Grade, choose the appropriate reinforcement grade from the dropdown.
Enable Epoxy coated reinforcement if applicable.

  4. Choose casting position factor
Select the appropriate value of Casting position factortr) from the dropdown menu.

  5. Enable compression reinforcement confinement (Optional)
Enable Compression reinforcement confinement if applicable.

Note: For the Shear Doweling application the longitudinal reinforcement input is not avaiable.
