Summary

PROFIS Engineering is a cloud‑based structural design software that runs directly in your web browser, no installation required. To ensure smooth performance, reliable calculations, and proper visualization of 3D models, your device must meet the minimum system requirements outlined below. These requirements help guarantee full compatibility with PROFIS Engineering’s features.

Prerequisites

You only need a device capable of running a modern web browser and a reliable internet connection.

System requirements

  1. Supported browsers
PROFIS Engineering is cloud‑based and works on most modern browsers. Older browser versions or unsupported browsers may cause performance issues.
Hilti recommends using the latest version of:
    • Google Chrome
    • Microsoft Edge
    • Mozilla Firefox
  2. Operating system
Any operating system capable of running the above browsers:
    • Windows 10 or later
    • macOS (latest two versions recommended)
    • Linux distributions supported through browser compatibility
  3. Hardware requirement
    Minimum recommended specifications
    • Processor: Dual‑core CPU (Intel i5 or equivalent)
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Integrated graphics capable of running WebGL
    • Display: 1366 × 768 resolution or higher
  4. Internet requirements
    PROFIS Engineering runs fully online.
    You need:
    • Stable broadband connection
    • Minimum 5 Mbps download speed
    • Lower latency improves responsiveness, especially for 3D view operations and report generation
  5. Additional requirements
    • Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled
    • Pop‑ups must be allowed for exporting reports and files
    • Firewall settings should not block Hilti domains or cloud functionality
    • Access to Hilti Online services is required for login, cloud storage, and support features

Tip

For the best experience, close unnecessary browser tabs and background applications, especially when working with large 3D models or detailed baseplate calculations. This helps maintain smooth navigation and faster performance in PROFIS Engineering.
