Summary
Defining the correct brick base material ensures that PROFIS Engineering applies the appropriate material properties needed for accurate anchor design.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Anchoring to Masonry module

Step-by-step instructions

Open the Base material tab
In your Anchoring to Masonry design workspace, navigate to the Base material tab on the left-hand side of the screen. -
Select brick type and size
Click on Brick and choose the appropriate Brick type.
Click on Brick size to modify brick width, height and thickness (if applicable). -
Define brick strength
Select brick strength from dropdown list, or
disable Predefined strength to enter the value manually. -
Input brick layout
Under Layout, select brick layout pattern and staring point.
Tip
Choose brick type, brick size, and strength that realistically match the actual wall; avoid “optimistic” assumptions. A stronger base material may shift the governing mode.
