Summary
Selecting the correct load type and design method ensures that PROFIS Engineering applies the appropriate assumptions for load behavior, design checks, and calculation models. These settings directly influence how loads are interpreted and how anchor forces, failure modes, and design capacities are evaluated.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module
- Have entered all required design inputs.
If needed, refer to the article How to access the Anchoring to Concrete module in PROFIS Engineering.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Go to Loads / Calculation Type
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, go to the Loads / Calculation Type on the left-hand side of the screen. -
Select the Anchor plate design approach
Under Advanced calculation type, choose your preferred design approach from the dropdown menu. -
Select the Load type
Go to Load type and select the desired option.
The Static load option is enabled by default. -
Define Seismic load type (if applicable)
Go to Load type and select the seismic load option.
Enter the reduction factor. Default value is one.
Select the seismic tension type from available options.
Select the seismic shear type from available options. -
Select the design method
Go to the Design method selection and select the desired option from the dropdown menu. -
Select the Shear load distribution
Go to Shear load distribution and select the suitable option.
