How to use the 3D Editor in Diaphragm Design module

Summary

The 3D view allows you to adjust the visual orientation of your model, edit geometry directly, apply loads, and select products - all within an interactive 3D environment.


Prerequisites

Make sure you:

  • Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
  • Have opened the Diaphragm Design module

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Select Area, Zone and Load
    In the 3D view, click on Area, Zone or Load dropdown to choose the selection that want to edit.

     

  2. Modify dimensions
    In the 3D view, click directly on dimension label to edit. 

     

  3. Input loads
    Click on the Uplift, shear, or stiffness load labels in the 3D view to enter load values.

     
  4. Select product
    Click the product selector box in the top right corner of the 3D view to choose the frame fastener, frame pattern, sidelap fastener, spacing, and to view product approval data.

     

  5. Modify the view
    Rotate: Left‑click and drag anywhere in the 3D view.
    Pan: Right‑click and drag to shift the model.

Tip

Use Show/hide elements in 3D to control what is displayed. 
For better workspace visibility, use the Zoom in/out, Reset camera, and Collapse menu options.
