Summary

This article explains how to access and use CBFEM Design in the Anchoring to Concrete module of PROFIS Engineering to perform flexible base plate design and verification.

Prerequisites

Make sure you:

  • Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
  • Have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module

If needed, refer to the article How to access the Anchoring to Concrete module in PROFIS Engineering.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Go to Loads / Calculation Type
In the Anchoring to Concrete module, go to Loads / Calculation Type.

If needed, refer to the article. How to select load type and design method in Anchoring to Concrete module

  1. Go to Anchor Plate Design Approach
Under Advanced calculation type, select CBFEM Design from the dropdown menu.
  1. Open the Advanced settings tab
Under Advanced settings, review and update the available settings as needed.

If needed, refer to the article. How to modify advanced anchor plate calculation settings

  1. Open the Profiles tab
Select the desired attachment profile from the available options.

If needed, refer to the article. How to define attachment profile in Anchoring to Concrete module

  1. Open the Material tab
Select the desired profile material from the available options, then select Apply.
  1. Go to Welds
Select the desired weld type, size, and material.
  1. Go to Stiffeners (Optional)
Select the desired stiffener layout from the available options. When stiffeners are enabled, enter the required stiffener properties, including shape, width, height, thickness, and material.
  1. Select Calculate to generate the design results.

Notes

  • Weld and stiffener design options are available only when the CBFEM Design approach is selected.
  • An attachment profile is required to perform a CBFEM analysis.
  • Available profile types and materials may vary depending on the selected country settings.
