Summary
Defining the correct concrete base material ensures that PROFIS Engineering applies the appropriate strength class and material properties needed for accurate design.
Prerequisites
Make sure you:
- Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
- Have opened the Concrete overlay module
If needed, refer to the article How to access the Concrete overlay module in PROFIS Engineering.
Step-by-step instructions
-
Open the Concrete member tab
In your Concrete overlay design workspace, navigate to the Concrete member tab on the left-hand side of the screen. -
Select the concrete grade
Expand Base material section.
Choose the appropriate Concrete Grade from the dropdown menu for existing member and new member. -
Define cracking condition
Cracked concrete option is enabled by default. Disable this option only if it can be established that no cracking will occur at service load levels.
Tip
To be on safe side, choose Cracked concrete. Many concrete members experience cracking during their service life, and selecting this option provides a more realistic basis for anchor design.
