Summary

Defining the correct concrete base material ensures that PROFIS Engineering applies the appropriate strength class, cracking condition, and material properties needed for accurate anchor design.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Base material tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Base material tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Select concrete type and grade
Choose the appropriate Concrete type and Concrete grade from the dropdown menus.
  2. Define cracking condition
Cracked concrete option is enabled by default. Disable this option only if it can be established that no cracking will occur at service load levels.

Tip

To be on safe side, choose Cracked concrete. Many concrete members experience cracking during their service life, and selecting this option provides a more realistic basis for anchor design.
