Summary

Defining and modifying the concrete geometry ensures that PROFIS Engineering uses the correct member thickness and edge distances for accurate anchor design and realistic load‑transfer behavior.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Base material tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Base material tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Go to Geometry
Here you can type in the concrete thickness value and edge distances in x and y directions. Alternatively, use the “+ / –” controls to increase or decrease the values.
  2. Use the infinity edge option
Select the Infinity edge option in case of large edge distances.

Tip

If your concrete member geometry is not yet finalized, start with approximate dimensions and refine them as your project develops. Changes to thickness or edge distances can significantly affect anchor capacity, so update the geometry whenever project drawings or site conditions change.
