Summary

Selecting the correct anchor plate shape and specifying the dimensions ensures that PROFIS Engineering accurately models the anchor plate’s structural behavior and load distribution. These settings influence anchor layout, plate deformation, and overall connection performance, making them essential inputs for a realistic and code‑aligned design.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Anchor plate tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Anchor plate tab on the left-hand side of the screen.

  2. Select the Anchor plate shape
Go to Anchor plate shape and select the desired geometric shape from the available options, or use custom for more complex configurations.

  3. Modify Anchor plate dimensions
Under Anchor plate shape, click on the highlighted box to modify the anchor plate dimensions.

  4. Set the Stand-off condition
Navigate to Stand-off Type. Select the applicable stand-off configuration for your design.

Note: In case of a stand-off, define the distance between anchor plate and concrete surface, nut & washer height and the restrain level between 1 (no restrain, fixture can freely rotate) and 2 (full restraint, fixture cannot rotate).

  5. Alternative Option: Ledger Angle
PROFIS Engineering also allows you to select a Ledger angle instead of an anchor plate.
Note: Custom material definitions are not available when choosing a ledger angle.

Tip

The anchor plate configuration significantly influences anchor forces and design outcomes; therefore, it is essential to ensure the correct configuration is entered.
