Summary

Supplementary reinforcement significantly enhances anchor capacity and ductility by restraining concrete breakout, particularly for shear near edges or high-tension loads. Providing information on supplementary reinforcement allows PROFIS Engineering to apply the correct assumptions for concrete behavior.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account and have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module. If you need help accessing the module, click here for step‑by‑step instructions.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Base material tab
In your Anchoring to Concrete design workspace, navigate to the Base material tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  1. Go to Supplementary reinforcement
    • Select the suitable Edge reinforcement based on the application conditions.
    • Select the suitable Reinforcement shear condition.
    • Select the suitable Reinforcement tension condition.

Tip

PROFIS Engineering defaults to the assumption that supplementary reinforcement is not present. To account for the beneficial effects of supplementary reinforcement, please adjust the above options accordingly.
