How to create a design template

Summary

Creating a design template allows you to reuse your preferred design inputs, so you don’t need to start from scratch each time you create a similar connection. 

Note: This option can be accessed only by users who are subscribed to PROFIS Engineering Premium.


Step-by-step instructions

  1. Go to PROFIS Engineering website
    https://profisengineering.hilti.com/
  2. Log in to your account using your Hilti credentials
    Sign in using your Hilti credentials.
  3. Create a template
    Select Templates on the left-hand side of the screen. 
    From the dropdown list, select Create template.  Templates can also be created form the New design controls (Top left corner).
  1. Select the design module
    In the pop-up window: 
    • Enter a template name.
    • Select location where the template will be saved: either create a new template folder or choose from pre-existing ones.
    • Choose your region.
    • Select fixing type (e.g., Concrete to concrete, Facade).
  2. Modify default design methods and units (Optional)
    In the same window, you can update:
    • Design method
    • Units
    • Safety factors and default parameters
    • Steel calculation method and parameters
    • Advanced anchor plate calculation settings
      Use arrow on the right, to expand or collapse a section.
      Note: Some options in this menu are available only for specific design modules.
  3. Modify design parameters
    In the selected design workspace, modify design parameters as desired.
    Click on the settings icon on the top panel.
    In the pop-up window, click Save to save your design template.

  4. Accessing your template
    In the PROFIS Engineering home page, go to Templates on the left-hand side of the screen and click on your template folder. 


Tip

Creating templates for your commonly used connection types can save time and help standardize your design process.
