Messages, Notifications, Warnings and design prompts in PROFIS Engineering are automated checks that continuously validate your inputs and calculation results. These checks ensure your design stays within approved limits defined by technical data, design codes, and product approvals. Messages and Notifications displayed in the Messages section on the right pane of the software guide you away from invalid configurations and help you make corrections early, resulting in a smoother and more reliable design workflow.

Prerequisites

Make sure you:

  • Are logged in to your PROFIS Engineering account
  • Have opened the Anchoring to Concrete module
  • Have entered all required design inputs.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. How Notifications (Scope Checks) Work
    Messages, Notifications and Scope Checks run automatically throughout your workflow and appear in the Messages section of the right pane. Orange Notifications, Messages, and Scope Checks indicate issues that require attention and may prevent report creation or export.

    • Before calculation
      PROFIS Engineering checks whether your basic design setup is valid.
      Typical checks include:
      • Required loads have been entered
      • Edge distances
      • Anchor spacing
      • Embedment depth

    If something is outside the allowed range, calculations are blocked and an orange warning or error message appears in the Messages section explaining what needs to change.

    • During calculation
      As the software processes your design, Scope Checks verify:
      • Safety requirements
      • Performance criteria
      • Code compliance

    If issues appear, you will receive a Message that highlights exactly which input or condition is problematic. 

    • After calculation
      Final results are validated to ensure they fall within approved capacities.
      If not, PROFIS Engineering shows warnings or error messages in the Messages section.
       

  2. Troubleshooting Notification (Scope Check) Messages

    Review the full orange message in the Messages section and follow any suggested corrective action.
    Orange messages may identify:

    • What the issue is (e.g., minimum edge distance not fulfilled)
    • Where it occurs (e.g., a specific anchor)
    • How to fix it (e.g., adjust edge distance, adjust anchor spacing, adjust plate size)

    Follow the suggested steps or click the grey prompt when available.

  1. Use grey Messages proactively
    Grey Messages do not prevent calculations, report creation, or report export. These informational Messages and recommendations may highlight:
    • Design assumptions
    • Opportunities to optimize the anchor layout
    • Installation recommendations

  1. Contact Hilti when needed
    If a Message is unclear or you need additional guidance for your design scenario:

    • Export your design as a .pe file
    • Take a screenshot of the notification
    • Contact your local Hilti technical support and include the .pe file and screenshot

    They can help interpret the message and recommend design alternatives.

Tip

Check the Results and Messages panel frequently as you modify geometry, loads, or anchor types. This helps you catch issues early and avoid repeatedly re-running blocked calculations.
