Step-by-step instructions

  1. How Notifications (Scope Checks) Work
    Notifications, also called Scope Checks, run automatically at several points in your workflow:

    • Before calculation
      PROFIS Engineering checks whether your basic design setup is valid.
      Typical checks include:
      • Base material selection
      • Anchor type
      • Edge distances
      • Anchor spacing
      • Embedment depth
      • Applied load levels

    If something is outside the allowed range, calculations are blocked and an error message appears explaining what needs to change.

    • During calculation
      As the software processes your design, Scope Checks verify:

      • Safety requirements
      • Performance criteria
      • Code compliance

      If issues appear, you will receive a notification that highlights exactly which input or condition is problematic.

    • After calculation
      Final results are validated to ensure they fall within approved capacities.
      If not, PROFIS Engineering shows warnings or error prompts in the Results and Notifications panel.
  2. Troubleshooting Notification (Scope Check) Messages

    • Read the full message
      Each notification explains:
      • What the issue is (e.g., minimum edge distance not fulfilled)
      • Where it occurs (e.g., a specific anchor or anchor plate corner)
      • How to fix it (e.g., increase spacing, adjust layout, reduce loads)

    Follow the suggested steps or use the automatic fix prompt when available.

    • Check typical limits
      Blocked designs often relate to one of the following being outside the permitted range:
      • Edge distance
      • Anchor spacing
      • Embedment depth
      • Base material selection
      • Excessive tension, shear, or combined loads

    Correcting these inputs usually resolves the notification.

  3. Use warnings proactively
    Warnings do not block design, they highlight:

    • Basic assumptions of the design
    • Proposed geometry improvements
    • Safer installation recommendations
    • Conditions close to the limit

    Relevant warnings also appear in the Design Report.

  4. Contact Hilti when needed
    If a notification is unclear or you believe your situation should be covered:

    • Save your PROFIS project
    • Take a screenshot of the notification
    • Contact your local Hilti technical support

    They can help interpret the message and recommend design alternatives.


Tip

Check the Results and Notifications panel frequently as you modify geometry, loads, or anchor types. This helps you catch issues early and avoid repeatedly re‑running blocked calculations.
