Step-by-step instructions

Open the Base material tab
In your Concrete-over-metal-deck design workspace, navigate to the Base material tab on the left-hand side of the screen. -
Open the Geometry section
Expand the Geometry section to view the available inputs. -
Define the concrete thickness
In the Concrete thickness field, enter the total thickness of the concrete slab above the deck.
This value determines how much concrete is available for anchor embedment.As you update geometry values, the 3D model in the center of the workspace updates to reflect the change. -
Select the deck thickness (gauge)
Use the dropdown menu under Deck thickness to select the gauge of the metal deck.
Deck thickness affects the structural behavior of the deck and how the anchor engages with the deck profile. -
Coordinate geometry inputs with deck selection
Because deck geometry depends on the metal deck type and anchor position, always confirm that:- The metal deck profile matches your geometry.
- The anchor position corresponds to the construction drawings.
- The concrete and deck thickness values reflect the actual slab specification.
Incorrect combinations may lead to unrealistic embedment or invalid design warnings.
